Our instructors are trained to accompany you throughout the flight time in a fully secure environment, allowing you to be able to live an out-of-the-ordinary experience with friends and family. We require that anyone under the age of 18 years old have a written parental or legal guardian consent. Are there any restrictions concerning health issues?Anyone who is in good physical health can fly in the tunnel. If you have any questions concerning the flying criteria, don’t hesitate to contact us and we will help you in the best way possible. Is it secure?A lot of people imagine that there is a possibility that they can be drawn into the machine, that they can pass through the motor or fall into the darkness. We assure you that this is not possible. This experience is totally secure and during the entire flight time, you will have an instructor by your side.
Is it scary? No, indoor free-fall simulation is not scary. You don’t have to jump from anything of fall down toward something. You can associate the feeling of free-fall simulation to floating. You have to keep in mind that you will also have been trained by your instructor for about 30 minutes prior to your flight time which will permit you to understand beforehand what will be happening inside the flight chamber. This will also be the best time to ask all of your questions and mention your worries if you have some. Your instructor will make sure, at that time, to explain why you do not need to be worried or scared.
Is it fun?Indoor free-fall simulation is exciting and fun. It is possible to learn how to fly in many different ways in a secure environment. Each time you fly, you are able to learn new techniques and perfect your skills. Whether you come to SkyVenture Montreal to hone your skills or to train for competitions, you will always have fun.
How do we feel when we are flying? The feeling associated to flying is unique and extraordinary. Flying in a vertical wind tunnel can be compared to the free falling portion of a skydivers jump. But there will not be one moment where you will feel like you are falling, you can compare the flying feeling to what it would be like if you were floating. You will be lifted by the air flow in the flight chamber and once in a stable position, you will be able to move around in the flight chamber. After just a few minutes, you will finally understand why birds sing!
Can I fly with friends or family members? You will naturally be part of a group when you come to fly. You may be with friends, family members or grouped with other parties coming to enjoy the SkyVenture experience. If you are flying for the first time, it will not be possible to fly with others in the flight chamber. Once you have developed sufficient skills to fly with other people, it will be possible to come as a group and fly all together (for a maximum of 8 people at a time).
Can I do flips and tricks in the flight chamber? It is possible to do tricks in the flight chamber. You can fly head down, sitting or on your back even, but you will need to have acquired a certain skill level to be able to do so. We do offer a training program as well as formation camps allowing you to perfect your skills and obtain different levels of experience.
Can I get pictures and videos of my session? It is possible to buy a DVD containing pictures and a video of your session. Also, we don’t allow you to bring a camera inside the flight chamber but we don’t have a problem with you inviting a friend to come and film you from outside the chamber.
What are your operating hours? We are open 7 days a week, 365 days per year. We are open weekdays from 3 P.M. to 11 P.M. and weekends from 9 A.M. to 11 P.M.
Do I need to jump from a platform? No, you don’t need to jump from anywhere. Your instructor will direct you toward the flight chamber door and you will simply have to lean in and with the help of your instructor, the wind flow will automatically support you.
Does indoor free falling resemble what skydivers do?SkyVenture Montreal can replicate with near perfection the free falling portion of a skydiver’s jump. In fact, it resembles so much what skydivers do and feel at 13 500 feet in the air, that all the teams that compete train in vertical wind tunnels around the world. If you want, you can even come and see the teams train at SkyVenture Montreal.
